From Zulema & Dan

Dear Dr. Sahakian,
It is hard to believe that it has been over 2 years since we first met. A lot has changed in our lives since then thanks to you. We have a beautiful sixteen month old baby girl whom we absolutely adore and whom you made possible for us. Here is my story as to how we arrived at your office. In the year 2000, when I turned 30, my husband and I decided it was time to start a family. So we tried the conventional way and nothing happened for a year. We then sough out medical advice form my gynecologist who said not to worry, give it a little more time. So we did, still nothing. Six months later, we began going through the infertility treatment maze-clomiphene, a hysterosalpingogram, and even surgery for varicocelli for my husband. Three years later we were still we were still not pregnant and becoming very emotional about the situation. I finally had the nerve to talk to a friend who was in a twin-triplets club. And she told me there was a great doctor in LA that her friends had used-Dr. Sahakian. From the moment we arrived at the center in January 2003, we knew this was a positive and supportive place. After reviewing our medical history, it was quickly evident to him we were IVF with ICSI candidates. Everything happened so fast. There were lots of instructions to follow but there was always someone helpful on staff if we had a question. By April, we had our first embryos transferred in and one took on the first try! We were so happy. I remember Dr. Sahakian giving me a hug after giving us the good news. It’s not every doctor that displays genuine happiness for his patients. I had some bleeding for a few weeks starting at week 13 which frightened us but our baby was unaffected by the situation. The rest of the pregnancy went smoothly. Our baby girl was born on December 21, 2003 and weighed 7 ½ pounds. She is now a rambunctious toddler. We constantly give thanks to God for giving us such a happy and healthy baby. We have complete faith and trust in Dr. Sahakian. In fact we are getting ready to “try” for another baby using our remaining frozen embryos.

Ever grateful. Zulema & Dan
