Dear Dr. Sahakian and PFC Staff,

A miracle!  On September 12, 1998, our dreams came true – Daniel Garrett and Emily Marie Campbell made our lives complete.  They were born premature (at 31 ˝ weeks), but they were in perfect health.  They are now very, very busy 2˝ year olds and keeping us on our toes… we love every minute of it. There is not a day that goes by that we don’t thank God for our angels!

Let me tell you our story.  After first trying to conceive on our own for a year, we realized we needed help.  We sought the help of several other reputable clinics in the area.  While their medical knowledge was good, their bedside manner needed some work.  We came to accept that in the world of infertility you are not treated as a person with hopes and feeling, but as a number.  So we came to the PFC clinic and expected to be treated the same as the other clinics.  To our surprise we were finally at a location where the doctors and staff genuinely cared.  Throughout the year we came to know Dr. Sahakian and his staff.  We found that our first impressions were – true the doctors and staff really enjoyed their work and wanted their patients to succeed.

The other clinics we went to never had any reason to why we were not conceiving. They could only tell us that there was “no explanation.”  When we came to PFC one of the first tests conducted was a blood test.  The results showed that my immune system was most likely the probable.  At last, a plausible explanation.  We finally had some hope that someday our dreams of having a family might just come true.

We began our first IVF cycle using IVIG to help with my immune system problem.  Our first attempt failed and we were devastated and ready to give up.  I can recall sitting in Dr. Sahakian’s office crying and telling him that I didn’t think I could go on and he looked at my husband and me and told us that he will be the first to tell us if he feels we shouldn’t continue.  He was so very caring and sympathetic he had us go home and take a few months off to become emotionally prepared for another attempt.

After a few months we were prepared to try again.  When our pregnancy test was confirmed, the staff was overjoyed to have been a part of the miracle.  We couldn’t believe our fortune.  We were at last pregnant!  We thanked Dr. Sahakian and he humbly said, “Don’t thank me, thank God!”  Two weeks later we found out we were doubly blessed- we were going to have twins.

Our twins, Daniel and Emily, are 2 ˝ years old now and they are truly the greatest blessing we have ever received.  They are the greatest joy that we could possible know and our lives are complete.  The future is bright.

Every night as we tuck our little angels in bed and they say their prayers, we say a little prayer with them and thank God for blessing our family with our “babies” and we also thank him for giving Dr. Sahakian the gift of helping God create life!

To anyone out there who is in the same place we were over three years ago the best advise that we could give is don’t give up!  We know how painful infertility can be and there were many times that we felt we couldn’t go on; but there was a force that was pushing us to continue and if we hadn’t listened to our instincts we may not have our children today!

God Bless and take care,
