Success story
We are writing this letter to Dr. Sahakian and his staff to thank you for the wonderful experience we had. Like so many couples out there, we want to share our story with the hopes it might give encouragement to another couple.
My husband and I have been together for 9 1/2 years. We decided pretty early that we wanted to have children. After about a year of trying, we had no luck. Concerned, we checked into a fertility doctor in our area. The doctor suggested a laporascopy. They found my tubes were totally closed and looked like “water balls“. They then suggested we do a surgery to do what they called “a flower procedure”. They opened up my tubes. The doctor at the time talked about Invetro Fertilization and said I would be a great candidate. Well we did the surgery. We couldn’t afford Invetro Fertilization at the time and didn’t think we needed that kind of treatment.
After the first month of having the “flowering procedure” I was late and went into the doctor. They did a pregnancy test and it was positive. They said we will test you again in a couple of days. I went back and it was negative. They said they couldn’t explain it. They said lets give it a more time.
Every month I would wait to see if I was pregnant. And every month I felt let down. About 8 months went by and I missed a period again. I went to an OB in my area and they did the blood test and said everything looked normal and I was pregnant. Totally ecstatic we told everyone. Started planning couldn’t believe it. I waited to do the orientation and went to my first check up. Just prior to the first check up I started to bleed. The doctor concerned about the bleeding and with my history decided to do a ultrasound. They could not find the baby at first and looked again and found the baby doing very well in my tube. I was 13 weeks. Devastated, the doctor scheduled me for surgery the next day. Again they tried to open my tubes during the surgery.
At the time, I couldn’t emotionally handle trying to get pregnant for a while. We took a break. About a year and a half went by and we heard about Dr. Sahakian. We went down for a consultation and really were comfortable with Dr. The only problem we had was financial at the time. We again put it off for a while and decided to adopt through the foster care program. Within four months a 4 month old baby boy was placed with us and we were lucky enough to adopt him. When our son turned 2 years old, we realized that he needed and we wanted to have another baby. We were in a better place financially and decided we were going to try invetro.
We started the procedure. I wanted to do everything they suggested to achieve success. I did the acupuncture and the egg glue. We only had 4 eggs fertilize and when we counseled with Dr. Sahakian, since I did not do so well with the eggs, we decide to transfer all 4 eggs back to me. When it was time to take the pregnancy test you bet I was there at the lab when it opened at 6:00 am. It was a Fri, 7 days before Christmas 2003. The test came back, We were pregnant but my reading was really low. The didn’t want to confirm. We had to wait all weekend what a long weekend that was. They had me go back on Mon. The test again was low. They had me go back on Wed (Mind you Christmas was on Fri) I was totally nerve racked. This time my numbers jumped they were able to confirm we were finally pregnant after 8 years of trying. On August 30, 2004, we had the pleasure of welcoming into the world a 7 pound 6 ounce beautiful baby girl.
Now, I can say I wish we wouldn’t of waited so long to let Dr. Sahakian help us get pregnant. The staff was wonderful and Dr. Sahakian I don’t even have the words. I can’t find the words to express how much this has meant to our family and has changed our lives.

Thank you Sincerely,

Jason & Heather
